A New Approach to Ground Infrastructure - KSAT Small Antenna Network

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Sponsored by: Orbital Systems, Ltd.

Since the beginning of the Space Age, we have seen satellites getting increasingly capable and decreasingly heavy. The cost of launching to orbit has provided a healthy motivation for lighter satellites. The revolution in terms of lowering satellite and launch costs is now being extended to the third commercial space infrastructure: ground station services. KSAT is proposing low-cost antenna farms situated at the polar areas. The polar sites will be complemented with low inclination sites as indicated by the needs of the user community. The new network will be operated in parallel with the existing, larger diameter antenna network.

KSAT is rolling out another industry first: an interactive web-based interface allowing the customer to instantly visualize available pass opportunities, through a state of the art, intuitive graphic user interface.
